Liverpool legend Bruce Grobbelaar is reportedly wanted for this year's edition of Strictly Come Dancing.

Liverpool goalkeeping legend Bruce Grobbelaar is reportedly in the frame to appear on this year's Strictly Come Dancing.

The 64-year-old turned out for the Reds between 1981 and 1994, helping them to six league titles, the European Cup, three FA Cups and three League Cups.

Strictly has a rich pedigree of having former sports stars as contestants, and according to The Sun, this year producers have set their sights on signing Grobbelaar.

A source told the newspaper: "Even getting him to agree to a meeting was a mission but so far he's dragging his heels.

"He's made it clear the only way he will sign up is if they agree a big money package.

"Producers are willing to splash out to get him but have a limit as to how much they can spend."

The new series of Strictly is due to begin on BBC One on September.
