Channel 5 brings back dieting show You Are What You Eat with new host Trisha Goddard.

Channel 5 has commissioned a revival of You Are What You Eat with Trisha Goddard in the Gillian McKeith role.

The lifestyle programme, which originally aired on Channel 4 between 2004 and 2007, takes a forensic look at participants' diets and shows them where they are going wrong, as well as offering areas for improvement.

The new version for Channel 5 will see Goddard take over from McKeith as host, appearing alongside health experts such as Dr Amir Khan - also seen on Channel 5's GPs Behind Closed Doors.

"Our bodies are like cars: fill it with the wrong fuel, leave it parked in one spot for way too long and bit by bit, it's going to start falling apart," said Goddard, who previously hosted a daily talk show on Channel 5 between 2005 and 2009.

"There is nothing more uplifting than finding how to create the best version of yourself. So working with people who want to improve the way they feed themselves; body and soul is really exciting."

The show has already begun casting under the code name Food Matters and is expected to air later this year.
