Schitt's Creek claims clean sweep at the Emmy Awards
Canadian comedy Schitt's Creek wins all seven awards on offer to it at the Emmy Awards.

Schitt's Creek has nabbed all seven awards on offer in the comedy categories of the Emmy Awards.

Due to coronavirus, the ceremony was re-imagined as a largely virtual event, with the cast and crew of the Canadian comedy assembling together at a private party North of the border.

Schitt's Creek, which aired its final season earlier this year, surged in popularity during the coronavirus lockdown as it became one of the most binged series among those isolating at home.

The show's Emmy wins tonight included Eugene Levy as best comedy actor, Catherine O'Hara as best comedy actress, Dan Levy as best supporting comedy actor and Annie Murphy as best supporting actress.

The series also won in the categories for best comedy direction and best comedy writing, as well as the coveted award for overall best comedy series.
