Jonas Brothers, Ellie Goulding and Niall Horan are added to the bill for Radio 1's virtual Big Weekend.

Jonas Brothers, Ellie Goulding and Niall Horan have joined the lineup for Radio 1's Big Weekend, it has been announced.

The three-day music festival was due to take place in Dundee between May 22 and 24 but instead will play out virtually due to the coronavirus pandemic, with artists recording new live sets from home.

Also joining the lineup are Aitch x AJ Tracey and Mabel, adding to previously-announced performers Sam Smith, Biffy Clyro and Rita Ora.

"Can't wait to play Radio 1's Big Weekend!!" said Horan. "Expect a few of your favourites and some of my new ones, I'll try and make it as good as it can get from home. I've played Big Weekend a few times but this one will be very different!"

As part of the virtual Big Weekend, Radio 1 will also broadcast vintage sets from years past, including Katy Perry's 2014 show and Miley Cyrus's performance from last year.
