Hollywood actor Jon Voight appears to compare US President-elect Joe Biden to Satan in a video backing President Donald Trump's baseless claims of election corruption.

Hollywood actor Jon Voight has said that he is "disgusted" with what he believes to be a corrupt US election that has led to Joe Biden being declared President-elect.

The Democrat will become President of the United States in January after defeating Donald Trump in this month's election - although the incumbent has steadfastly refused to accept the result, alleging widespread corruption without providing any significant evidence to back up his claims.

Oscar-winner Voight - father of Angelina Jolie and star of films such as Deliverance, Coming Home and Enemy of the State - is an outspoken Trump supporter and has now posted a professionally-shot video to his Twitter account in which he backs the President's allegations.

"The ones who are jumping for joy now are jumping toward the horror they will be in for," he says in the short clip. "I know the promises being made from the left to the American people will never come to be.

"My friends from all colours, races and religions, this is now our greatest fight since the civil war.

"The battle of righteousness versus Satan. Yes, Satan, because these leftists are evil, corrupt and they want to tear down this nation. We must not allow this."

The 81-year-old went on to quote the late boxer Muhammad Ali, encouraging Trump supporters to fight until "the last punch you have".
