Gillian Anderson has admitted that she is unsure whether Netflix will give the go-ahead to a fourth season of comedy drama Sex Education.
After a delay of several months due to coronavirus, filming on season three of the show finally got underway in September ahead of a release early next year.
Sex Education has a healthy fanbase on social media although that is no guarantee that the streamer will renew it, even though Anderson - aka Otis's sex therapist mother Jean - has revealed that provisional talks have been held.
"It has been discussed and I think, given how much people are enjoying it, I don't see why it wouldn't [be renewed] but things change," she told Collider.
"Things are changing at Netflix daily, as we speak. And so at the end of the day, it's nobody's call but those guys at the top."
Anderson can also be seen in another Netflix series, The Crown, in which she plays former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in the recently-released fourth season.
