US network ABC has ordered nine episodes of a local version of ITV's long-running quiz show The Chase for primetime broadcast.
The series has been a key part of ITV's schedules since 2009 and has aired more than 1,500 episodes as well as various spinoffs, including the new format Beat The Chasers earlier this year.
The US version will be hosted by Sara Haines of The View and feature a trio of former Jeopardy! legends - James Holzhauer, Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter - as the Chasers.
Quiz shows have enjoyed a resurgence in popularity on both sides of the Atlantic over the last few months in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic as they are quick and cheap to film, with formats typically lending themselves to social distancing by their nature.
The Chase was previously adapted for the US market by the Game Show Network in 2013 but lasted two years before being axed.
