Filming starts on the fourth Jurassic World movie starring Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey begins in Thailand.

Filming starts on the fourth Jurassic World movie starring Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey is underway in Thailand.

The as-yet untitled film - the seventh overall installment in the Jurassic Park franchise - will mark "the start of a new era" for the dinosaur saga, with none of the main cast members from the original trilogy or the second trilogy expected to return.

Godzilla's Gareth Edwards is directing the movie, with a script from David Koepp - responsible for penning the 1993 original and 1997 sequel - while Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley are back as producers.

In addition to Johansson and Bailey, other cast members include Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Mahershala Ali, Rupert Friend, Luna Blaise and David Iacono.

According to Variety, the film is "a completely fresh take launching a new Jurassic era, following three adults and three teens getting stuck on the Island".

Filming in Thailand is due to last into July before production moves on to Malta and then wraps up in the UK in October.

Jurassic World 4 is due for release on July 2, 2025.
