TV presenter AJ Odudu is announced as the UK's spokesperson for this year's Eurovision Song Contest.

AJ Odudu has been confirmed as the UK's spokesperson at this year's Eurovision Song Contest.

The TV presenter, who competed on last year's Strictly Come Dancing, will announce the result of the UK jury votes during the grand final of the contest on May 14.

For the first time the UK spokesperson will also be broadcast live from outside of London, with Odudu's segment coming from Salford, Greater Manchester.

"I've watched the contest ever since I was a kid, when I fell in love with the pure joy of it," she is quoted as saying by The Sun.

"And the fact it's coming up north is amazing. It's like the Eurovision stars have aligned for me."

Amanda Holden was last year's UK spokesperson, while others to have filled the role in recent years include Rylan Clark-Neal, Mel Giedroyc, Richard Osman and Nigella Lawson.
