Jamie Kenna seemingly confirms his exit from Coronation Street after a year playing Phill Whittaker.

Jamie Kenna has seemingly confirmed that Phill Whittaker has left Coronation Street for good.

In scenes broadcast in the last few weeks, Phill got married to Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) but she left him on their wedding night in order to reunite with Tyrone (Alan Halsall).

After Phill finally learned the truth about what happened, he agreed to an annulment and said his goodbyes to Fiz and the kids.

In a video posted on the official Corrie account, Kenna, who has played Phill for the last year, said: "The modern day Jack and Vera are reunited and I feels so honoured to have played my part in that.

"Jennie and Alan are the best people to work with. I've had an absolute blast. I love this place. I love this show. What a ride it's been for Big Phill with two Ls.

"Who knows? Maybe it isn't the end. Maybe they'll bring him back but for now it's a massive goodbye from me."

Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV.
