Sky has officially launched its fastest broadband package to date - a 900 Mbps service.
Called 'Sky Broadband Gigafast', the new product is delivered via FTTP and offers a minimum speed guarantee of 600 Mbps.
The service will be 25 times faster than Sky's standard broadband package, which runs at 35 Mbps, and is an upgrade on the current top speed of 500 Mbps offered in the Ultrafast Plus package.
Sky Broadband Gigafast is being priced at £55 a month on an 18-month contract - roughly on par with the £62 a month charged by Virgin Media for its 1,130 Mbps package, and just below the £59.99 for BT Broadband's 910 Mbps package.
Aman Bhatti, director of propositions at Sky Broadband, said: "With game changing speeds that are 25x faster than our standard fibre (36mb/s), Sky Broadband Gigafast offers WiFi hungry homes the ability to connect lots of devices at any one time, delivered through our reliable network with award-winning customer service."
Customers in FTTP areas can upgrade to Gigafast starting from today.
