The BBC Sounds app goes live on PlayStation 5 in the UK.

BBC Sounds has arrived on the PlayStation 5, it has been confirmed.

Users of the console can now access thousands of hours of podcast and archive content from the BBC, as well as stream the BBC's national, local and online radio channels.

Pushpa Reddy, director of product management at the BBC, said: "Record numbers of people are using BBC Sounds, and launching on PS5s makes it even easier for our listeners to enjoy brilliant live and on-demand radio, music and podcasts from the BBC.

"Whether it's on a TV, smartphone, smart speaker or on the web, we want to be there wherever and whenever people want to listen."

The PS5 is one of the most popular consoles in the UK, with more than 1 million units sold to date.
