Diversity will perform a special George Floyd-inspired routine on tonight's first semi-final of Britain's Got Talent.

Diversity will perform a tribute to George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter movement on tonight's episode of Britain's Got Talent.

The show is returning to ITV for its semi-finals after a break of three months due to coronavirus, with Diversity leader Ashley Banjo being drafted in as a judge to replace the injured Simon Cowell.

The Got Talent winners will also perform on the show, with Banjo devising a hard-hitting and emotional routine that depicts the death of Floyd, who was killed in Minneapolis in May when a US police officer knelt on his neck.

At one point in the performance, Banjo is seen on the floor while a white police officer kneels on his neck alongside vocals of "I can't breathe".

Sirens play out and smoke then fills the stage as a rap begins: "While we all were hidden, under orders of the Prime Minister, people dusted off their instincts and noticed something more sinister. Another disease, deep rooted in our system, fear, hate and ignorance, but racism was the symptom."

Speaking to The Sun about the routine, Banjo said: "This performance is extremely special to me and the rest of Diversity.

"2020 has been an incredible moment in history for both positive and negative reasons.

"We wanted to use the platform we've been given to make our voices heard, express how the events of this year have made us feel and think about how we might look back on them in the future... We call it hindsight 2020."

Britain's Got Talent airs tonight at 8pm on ITV.
